GT1-P1 The Rate of Change of Land Use from Non-Built Up to Built Up
Definition

Built-up activities are urbanland use activities such as housing, industrial, commercial, public facilities, etc. conducted in urban and rural areas. Non-built-up activities refer to land use activities such as agriculture, forestry, green areas, open spaces, water bodies, etc.

 

Justification
Measurementof the percentage change in non-built-up activities to the built-up activities is important for assessing the degree of land use change from non-urban activities to urban activities. Non-built-up activities should be controlled where development can or should only be allowed on the current needs of the population.
